Question by Johny boy1112: What am I guilty for?
My parents caught me out of suspicion using cannabis, and I admitted to it. I got the typical lecture you would expect. Gateway drug theory, my future, etc. My mother in particular is giving me this very discomforting treatment. She will use a certain tone with me and I know them very well, If I ask for anything she will make me feel guilty. So to test that I asked for money to go out and eat, right as I thought ” Do you deserve it, do you deserve it ? “. Only take this much from there she repeated twice, she thought I stole money from her to go buy weed. I got enraged and snapped. I have integrity, why the fuck would I steal from my own parents let alone anyone, its marijuana not crack. So I raged at her and she just acted all obnoxious, fuck it pissed me off. Alcohol is accepted yet it’s much more dangerous. I don’t think people should find any reason to just get high, but we all need some way to self-medicate or really just enjoy ourselves. They took that away from me, I’m not going through any withdrawal but I won’t view my actions as being of criminal conduct. Society is a trip.

Yes. Legally speaking, your actions were of criminal conduct.
Morally speaking, light up. Just don’t get caught by your parents, or the police. (Especially not the police.)

Parents don’t want their kids to smoke pot. That was a totally normal reaction from a mom. She is just trying to look out for you.
As far as the “Do you deserve it?” stuff — she’s just mad and not thinking straight. If she was calmer she would see how lame that question is.

I am not convinced alcohol is more dangerous than cannibis. You never know what the weed is laced with.
You know when your mom is mad she won’t “give” you anything, well why should she you broke the law and the wishes of your parents, but you asked anyway.
You are surprised she got pissy but it is OK you raged.
You have a very one sided view of what happened, dude.
Try self medicating with a good book or some meditation, you got exactly what you asked for in this case.

You used a drug that your parents and the law believe you should not be using. What other clarification do you need?
Your opinions on the seriousness of marijuana are profoundly irrelevant.

It’s “guilty of.”
Your actions are criminal whether or not you want to view them that way. Your parents place their trust in you to behave responsibly, and you violate that trust — apparently with some frequency as they “caught [you] out of suspicion — so “do you deserve it?” strikes as a very reasonable question. Then your mother gave you money to go out and eat. Of course, she’d suspect you were going to buy weed: they don’t give it away and you’re a user.
Let’s see. You break the law, rage at your parents, mock them to their faces and behind their backs, use them, think “all need some way to self-medicate or really just enjoy ourselves” (meaning, the self-medicate statement is a lie) — no, you are not a person of integrity. You use big words in an attempt to prove you’re really something, but your writing and what you say deny that, as well. Whether or not you want to view yourself that way, you’re a loser and major screw-up. You can change that, but you’re enjoying your bad-@$ $ persona so much, I don’t expect you will any time soon. I started to say you’re lucky you don’t have stronger parents, but, actually, you aren’t. I hope you do get smart sooner rather than later, so you don’t ruin your entire life.

It’s such a shame because if they’d talked *to* you instead of at you they could provided you with good advice that you could have used to keep yourself safe from dangerous drugs like alcohol, tobacco, meth and heroin. They missed a great opportunity.
EDIT:
Marie K – weed can only be laced with anything BECAUSE it’s illegal. We don’t worry about beer being laced with wood alcohol do we? That’s because it’s LEGAL.
Humans have used marijuana for more than 5,000 years, if it caused any serious problems we’d know all about them by now. We wouldn’t be sitting around wondering about what marijuana might do or what harms it could have!
LEGALIZE IT!
