ALCOHOL did NOT enter this guys body on its own – alcohol did not force this guy to become violent. Alcohol only numbed this guy enough so he could feel comfortable letting you see that dark evil side. Long enough for him to let some of his hatred out on YOU so he could feel just a little bit better……
UNTIL that nasty dark stuff he usually keeps hidden starts getting to be too much, and he gets DRUNK again so he can take it out on YOU – AGAIN……..and the cycle continues on and on and on……….
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!! LEAVE!! RUN!!! DO NOT LOOK BACK!!!! DO NOT LISTEN TO ANYTHING HE SAYS!!!!
“Counseling” will NOT work – remember – he already says HE is not at fault here – the booze (and you, he just did not say it – yet) did it – and trust me, you would only find out MORE disturbing things about him if he went, which he will not.
I was STUPID many years ago – STUPID enough to give my ex “another chance”. Until I FINALLY gave up, I sustained : a totaled ego and self esteem, loss of friends and gained disrespect from family, a broken nose, hundreds of dollars of broken sentimental heirlooms, two black eyes, a gash in my head and 50 stitches, several huge holes in my walls and doors, the cops knew me by voice over the phone, chunks of hair ripped out, loss of wages from work due to stress and humiliation, broken arm, and a smashed ankle with 15 pins holding together under my skin I have to live with forever……..
WAS IT WORTH giving him “another chance”?????????
NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!! I SHOULD OF RAN AFTER THE VERY FIRST TIME HE EVER LAY A HAND ON ME!!!

It doesn’t matter who it is. Its not just the event itself that shows you about him. If he would hit you at all then no matter what the situation is he will again. If i were you I wouldn’t give him even one more chance. If you forgive him once then you’ll probably do it again. You have to break the cycle before it begins.
its true that people make mistakes and that sometimes we should forgive if not forget. But this is not one of those times. Just because it was a mistake does not mean it won’t happen again. If anything it just makes it more likely to happen again as he obviously has no control over himself when hes drunk.
You can only blame your actions on the drink when you first get drunk. After that you know what you are capable of and what your limits are.
Hope everything works out. I wish you the best of luck.

Blaming alcohol?
Who forced him to drink it?
I`d say – if you do love him – to give him ONE more chance.
A next time will be the last time – and will be followed by a report to the police for violence.

If he hit you once he will do it again and again blaming it on alcohol. And, you should not say “only”. Only should never have happened. Leave him now!

A high percentage of “just once” do it again. Its your gamble, is he worth the risk ?
