    Alcoholism is a condition that results in the continued consumption of Alcoholic beverages without concern for the negative effects to a persons health or social life.

    Addiction is a state in which the body relies on a substance for normal functioning.

    i say disease. Depending on the substance involved one or 2 uses can cause a physical addiction plus there is evidence that genectics play a role. If we are interested in helpin people with their addiction and reducing the crime/dpendency that results we need to offer them treatment like we do suffering cancer,aids,schizorenia and not slap them with labels as moral deficency

    The person also has to willing tro change being drunk or high is not a blank check excuse for crime/abuse
