James C

Alcoholism is said to be genetically predisposed just as you claim homosexuality is.

Thank you for supporting my point.

Alcohol affects organ systems.
Homosexuality practiced with safety precautions doesn’t do that.

  1. Amelia says:

Why isn’t your idiocy a disease?

  2. Dominic M says:

Because homosexuality doesn’t necessarily cause harm to yourself and other people.

  3. Mike G says:

Because there’s nothing negative about homosexuality itself. It’s only the social stigma surrounding it that’s negative. Alcoholism has all sorts of negative effects beyond the social ones.

  4. JM says:

My, what a completely asinine and ignorant question.

Alcoholism destroys a person’s health and life in general.

    Homosexuality destroys nothing.

  5. James C says:

Well, the fact that you ask the question the way you did shows that you believe that homosexuality is a choice. It is like being born with black hair. Can you cange the fact that you were born with black hair? No, you might be able to hide it, but you can’t change the inherent fact that you have black hair. Same thing with homosexuality. People are born sober and over time become addicted to alcohol. People that are born homosexual, can’t change that fact. Good luck being a bigot. Just because alcoholism “might” be genetically predisposed and considered a disease doesn’t mean that homosexuality is a disease. You calling it a disease Still makes you prejudice.

  6. LL says:

Not sure where to go with this, but homosexuality is not a disease because it does not attack the body’s liver for starters.

A comparison analyst on the subject matter because having sex with someone (whether heterosexually or homosexually) does not automatically give you a disease, or attack your body’s organs.

  7. akuroiw1 says:

Homosexuality is a moral dilemma not a medical one. It is technically not harmful physically.

One could argue that from a moral standpoint it is harmful mentally as in one’s opinion it corrupts their mind and soul but that is a moral argument and not a medical one.

  8. Danny S says:

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn’t Maybe alcoholism is not a disease. Maybe it is. You a re talking about subjective definitions.

PS – Alcoholism may not even be a disease. It depends on who you ask – so you cannot rely upon the “disease” concept.
