You can ask people here to pray for you…they will to. A awhile back someone said they had a headache (not sure if joke or not..seemed like one) and asked people to pray for them and they did.

Or you could just go to the doctor. Or AA…

  2. grammartroll says:

“Jesus, please help me with my addiction.”

Then hold your breath. I asked Him for five years to make me not gay. Apparently he wasn’t listening.

  3. Deke says:

Anybody that can turn water into wine is probably NOT the best person to lean on for that.

  4. SkyClad says:

Ask him to deliver you to a shrink.

  5. Gazoo says:

You could, but there are consoler’s that would be of more help.

  6. jozzie says:

you just pray talk to God as though he is right there cause he is and you can overcome this

  7. Mr Obvious says:

Why don’t you just go, “Hey Jesus, help me with my depression and alcoholism.” I reccommend that you wait until he is done mowing your lawn, as it is hard to hear anything with the mower on.

I wouldn’t put my hopes on a non-existent being. You can help yourself a lot by thinking things through. For example, think about what you really want to do in life, look at the world and see that you’re already well off, think whether alcohol can really bring happiness, stuff like that.

I hope you get well soon.

with honesty and from heart. ask him as if you would ask yourself. you do not have to get all fancy with him. just ask him the way a child would put it. you do nave to use the words they use. just be simple. Like for example. God i know your there, help me out will you. I need to remove them problems from my life. Thank you. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen. I love you Jesus. Then once finished watch God work that miracle in your life.

  10. Hawk says:

Just simply pray and have others pray. Then you need to take action to try and stop drinking. On depression it depends on what kind whether your just depressed because things aren’t going your way (selfishness) or you have something seriously wrong with your chemicals in you body. (not to sure i buy into that, but i don’t rule it out.)

  11. Gummy says:

You have to let go of it and realize that you can’t handle it anymore. Give it all to Jesus, by putting all your faith and trust in him. He will not help you until you take the first step. Seek professional help and Jesus will give you strength and peace through the whole process. Stay in his word and be in constant prayer, this is where Jesus will speak to you.

    .
just tell him like if you were talking to your best friend!! ask him to take away (you name it). but don’t let Jesus do all the work, you have to put of yourself, he’ll make you new if you seek him, the more you seek him in prayer the more benefits you’ll get!! Let me tell you that this can be a process, but don’t look back!! blessing

read his word and seek counseling with other people that had been thru what you’re going thru now, this can help a lot!!

  13. Dr. Phil A says:

If you want Jesus to help you, all you need to do is pray to him, asking for help and to guide you out of alcoholism and depression!

  14. adorablesuperspy says:

If you ask him for the ability to ‘fly’ don’t expect your arms to grow.

You’ll probably have to buy a plane ticket. ( go to AA.)

  15. Robin W says:

I can recommend something more effective. Do some research on the connection between alcoholism, depression and hypoglycemia.

It is much easier to quit drinking once you have taken care of your nutritional needs. Stop eating sugar and refined carbs. Eat more complex carbs and protein, having 5-6 small meals a day. It works for me. I quit drinking, and also lost 20 pounds.

  16. abouterachess says:

    Thanks For Your Question

Well first you could ask God not Jesus peace be upon him because God is the only one capable of helping you

second, when you are asking God be so sure that he is listening and believe that he is there and also believe that he will guide you and helping you because without believing in these things there is no use of praying, so if you did that and you truly felt that he is there and he will help you…he will :)

  17. Mr. Marbles says:

jesus isn’t going to help you. Just look at a homeless guy who prays everyday but his situation hasn’t changed. You need to make things happen yourself, jesus isn’t going to do it.

  18. Deirdre H says:

First, depression is almost always a result of alcoholism. Alcohol is a depressant, and those who drink excessively become depressed. (This isn’t to mean that all people with depression are drinkers, but that those who drink become depressed.)

I’ve known many alcoholic Christians, and I’ve not met one yet, who was a true alcoholic, who was able to stop with church alone. It may be possible, but I’ve not met such a person.

The best cure I’ve found for alcoholism is Alcoholics Anonymous. It is a program of spirituality which encourages communion with your God (Your definition of God, as the program teaches no specific doctrine).

Millions of people have been able to put down alcohol for 24 hours a day. I’ve met people sober for more than 50 years.

It’s simple, but not easy. Alcoholism is a chronic disease, won’t go away, but you will be able to treat it effectively, just like any other chronic disease.

  19. elmjunburke says:

Haven’t you heard ? He was executed two thousand years ago. He out of the helping business.

  20. Kristi H says:

I hope you won’t take the advice of some of those above me. Jesus isn’t dead, He’s VERY much alive. And wants to help you.

First of all, Jesus only answers and helps those that are called God’s children. I pray you can say that you have been saved.

If you are a child of God, He can help you out. Surrender to Him and ask for His help. That’s all there is to it. Don’t expect immediate results. It could take much longer than you expect. He doesn’t want to get you out of it…He wants to get you through it. So allow Him to test you, if that’s what He might be doing. Lean on Him and let Him guide you every step of the way. Get in His word, and spend time with Him just talking. It will make your life so much more abundant and He will fill you with overflowing joy. He wants to help you, you just gotta be willing.

You’re in my prayers! my email address is kamh5891@yahoo.com if you ever need anybody to talk to! =]

  21. Mav here! says:

There is no temptation that has seized you but what is common to man, but God is faithful and will provide a way out.

This doesn’t mean insta-cure. This means that you aren’t going through anything that someone else hasn’t gone through. God has provided you doors to open.
Talk with God, yell at God, scream at God, learn God’s Word and hold it in your heart.
At the same time, go to AA, go see a doctor, get in rehab.

    I will pray

  22. daisykristina says:

Hey, I really think you should check out Alcoholic’s Anonymous, their meetings, and their “Big Book” (it’s really not that big) or other similar 12-step programs.

I know some people going through that process, it does involve God, and it’s amazing how much they’ve been able to stay sober, and how much happier they seem these days.

    Good luck

  23. kait says:

If you go to this Christian web site, they will give you all of the help that you need. They will give you a one on one mentor who will teach you how to depend on Jesus for strength rather than your own. The name of the course is “New Wine.” It worked for me. My life has been transformed after a forty year addiction to drugs and alcohol.

  24. crazyhayashi says:

Just come to Him honestly in prayer and ask for His assistance and guidance, then take some action yourself, go to a group, therapy, something, supplementing it all with prayer to God to keep you strong and help you perservere

  25. AnArdRi says:

Depression and alcoholism are better dealt with using “real world” solutions. Depression is often a result of an imbalance in brain chemistry and can be treated.

I would recommend that you look into stopping drinking before beginning the treatment for depression, however. Alcohol is a depressant, and should be out of the system before treating depression with medication.

There are numerous ways to deal with alcoholism. One of the most effective is Alcoholics Anonymous. Find a “beginners meeting” near you and attend. You may be a bit uncomfortable at first, but stick around. There is a lot of valuable information to be had there. The people there have been down the road, and can help you as you recover.

I say these things about depression and alcoholism out of experience. Been there, done that.

  26. bigvol662004 says:

The Scripture says, “Pray without ceasing.” I know that that’s an extremely short answer, but praying in all sincerity and doing what you’re told by doctors and such is the beginning.
