Best answer:

Answer by ToXicLuvAffaiR
people view suicide and acohol as a way to escape the reality of their problems, depression is the driving force behind suicide, with alcoholism, because depression can span for years without proper treatment, alcoholics become dependent on the high that it gives them, the escape, the temporary happiness or delirium on a longterm basis, until they can face their triggers and problems

  1. Amandarama says:

Both suicide and alcohol are escapes, and I’d imagine people would like to escape from severe depression.

  2. Pam R says:

Alcohol is a depressant, and if you are already in that state of mind, it adds to it.

  3. Vicky Parker says:

Suicide is an outcome of severe or major depression. People escape into alchohol. It dulls the senses and takes them somewhere else for a while (their drunken view of reality). Alcoholism is also a depressent and would interfere with medications used to treat depression
