Is There Any Services On The Internet That Offer Free Counseling?

I was wondering if anyone knew of any good internet webpages that have people who “staff” it and can offer free counseling? More just every-day type counseling, not for drugs or abuse or alcohol or anything like that. Just someone to talk my problems through with (like family, relationship, etc.) who can give real, valid advice. I’d go somewhere local and in-person, but I often have my young toddler at home with me and somedays I just really need to talk to someone so e-mailing or live chat would work best for me.
If you know of any websites for this, I’d sure appreciate it.

Do you work? Usually, things like consultations online are not free and they are impersonal. Usually if you work with a company, they have something set up where they have someone to talk to you about things like that for free. You might want to google self-help to find what you need. If all else fails, you can ask questions on answers or pick a person to ask. All they can say is no. If you really need it, I can help you.

I don’t know of anything online, but every big city has crisis phone lines whose purpose is to do exactly this. Look up “crisis line” in your phone book. Ask for phone numbers from a mental health clinic in your nearest hospital if you can’t find anything (you don’t have to give out your identity in any way).
