…I am talking about my partner here, age 42, can some one really overcome alcohol dependence at this age. I feel it cannot be done with out therapy / counselling. However it appears not everyone is ammenable to ” mind medicine” and fear it so. this time he really could loose myself and our two children – yet sober he is a lovely man and the kids adore him. He says I am his soul mate….although I love him, unfortunatley he is no longer mine, I’ve had to do some degree of detaching… any thoughts?? Thanks.

I’m wondering about how I can find alcohol rehabs here that will allow my mom to go with my dad in some of his counseling or therapy sessions while undergoing treatment for his alcohol addiction. I think it would really be beneficial for him.

I have been sober for almost 3 years and am now attending college, I am getting ready to transfer to an Univerisity and I cannot figure out my major, because of my state jail felony. I get off probation in 6 months and so far have completed probation successfully and will not be convicted, so what are my options then. I want to teach 1st grade, or become a nurse, can I totally forget about either one of those professions? What about drug and alcohol counseling???? Help!!

I am with my fiance and she has a daughter that we are trying to get custody of her father is constantly getting drunk he is in the Air Force and he just recently got an article 15 cause he was so drunk and couldn’t go to work we also know that they made him take alcohol counseling for a year is there any way to prove that in court?
