Please only answer if you are a professional or have been through this. My husband and I have had marital problems for nine years, all of it stems as I see it from his drinking. I left six months ago and told him if he got clean for one year we would go to counseling. I have stood by that. Two weeks ago, once again with no help he said he has stopped and wants to go to counseling and to rebuild our marriage, I said I cannot do that yet, I can support you and will but not counseling yet. He has told me he has stopped a hundred times over. Am I doing right or should i go and give it a shot? I dont believe or trust him and its so hard. I need to hear from someone that is not involved emotionally.

How can you help her when she won’t seek help? Yet she suffers emotionally. I don’t want to go into details, I know she is suffering. It’s not drugs or alcohol. It’s emotional pain and suffering.She has people who love her, but a lot of pain in her life. I pray for her. She is a nurse and knows she needs counseling but for some reason resists it. I was arrested in Pennsylvania for DUI, underage drinking, and possession of a small amount of marijuana last October. I was placed on probation in April. I live in New York and my probation officer said that since I was in treatment (drug and alcohol counseling was one of my requirements to get back into school), not to worry about probation until I got back to school (in Pennsylvania).
Well, I finished my counseling here in New York and have about a month and a half until I go back to school and into the jurisdiction of my probation office, which means that I am not getting drug tested until I either go back or they transfer it over.
Is there a good chance that they will transfer jurisdiction to New York even with such a short amount of time left until I’m back in Pennsylvania?

I have since then done PC1000 drug and alcohol counseling Domestic Violence classes and finished 2 years of Drug and alcohol in house recovery. I have been clean for 5 years now and the reason i fulfilled the above mentioned is cause i had openly admitted my drug use from a case in 2006 in mesa. THese incidents happened way before that and they still want me to plea guilty to felonies…..its a class three for possession of marijuana (some crumbs)according to their Report an Aggravated assault with a hammer (class 3) and posesion of dangerous narcotics for the rolling papers (class 6). i am not trying to use my christianity as a cop out but honestly believe that I can prove to be a person who has made a turn around. I cannot afford an attorney and am a inner-city missionary at a church in Los Angeles…i got to court Oct 3rd to see what plea they offer this time is cause i refused the last one. Any advise please help!!!!!!

i am a senior at Penn State majoring in Rehabilitation and Human Services with a minor in Psychology. I NEED an internship for the Spring 2009 semester. More importantly a PAID internship. I have to pay tuition to penn state for 15 credits. I have to work at least 40 hours per week for 16 weeks (one semester) to fulfill my graduation requirement.
Since i am not 100% sure which direction I would like to go in the field I am open to main ideas. A list of things i wouldlnt mind doing:

social work
Physical Therapy
Occupational Therapy
Rehabilitation Therapy
Family and Marital counseling
Drug and alcohol counseling
et cetera.
Please help! If you know any websites that would be excellent! I found a ton of websites on internships..even paid, but it seems as though i cant find any paid for the social services. HELP
