both will kill you, just in different ways. want liver cancer or lung cancer? just read an article today on msnbc news that had a study of pot smokers that equalled 2.5 -5 times the damage of a tobacco cigarette in one joint.

I was just wondering about this since a friend of mine wants to suggest something to her parents so that they may be able to put their son in the right drug rehab. What are the factors to consider?

The first thing to consider would be the kind of program that the person will undergo. The qualifications of the staff in the rehab are important too. Look into the medical credentials as well as the license gotten by the drug rehab. My mother claims she’s not an alcoholic but within the past few years, with her increased stress, she’s increased drinking. She now drinks a glass of wine every night, sometimes two. On weekends she’ll have 4 or 5 glasses. She never seems clearly drunk but becomes louder and clearly less aware of surroundings. I’m worried about her. Are these signs of an alcoholic?

yes.
My mother is one i should know. My mother drinks nothing BUT alcohol now.
Before when i was younger she would drink wine just liek your mom. Maybe you can try and talk to her about how you feel. Maybe your mom is not HOOKED yet. as drinking can be -she might become dependent upon it if she continues drinking like that.

Question by : Is it normal to get quick alcohol effects which fade out almost immediately after?
So drinking a bit of relevantly alcoholic wine will actually make me feel slightly more relaxed for a bit just before fading away between 15-60 minutes. Also, I seem to have trouble with this at parties and the such as I’ll just get “the buzz” for about an hour or two before it fades away once again.
