Question by lloyd Schwartz: will the withdrawal symptoms from abusing benadryl be real bad. i’ve been taking 100 pills almost every day?
i didn’t take any for 4 days, and i had HUGE anxiety attack. i’m really worried about the detox. i’ve already been in treatment twice for alcohol in the last year. i wazs addicted to meth for 14 years. i used alcohol to help me beat that. in 4 years i became a full blown alcoholic. when i was in treatment for the alcohol problem, i started taking benadryl. 6 months at approx. 100 pills a day adds up to A WHOLE LOT OF PILLS

Find s/thing to do with your time – it’s common to replace one addiction for another. plus remember the 21 day rule.

I have been friends with her since 5th grade. We ended up going to the same high school as well. In 9th grade she started hanging out with the wrong crowd. Freshman yr her boyfriend got her into drugs, and alcohol. By her sophmore yr she moved in with her grandmother who wanted to help her with her drug addiction. She ended up getting pregnant her junior yr and did very well and got medical help and everything and did not smoke once while pregnant or drink.
Well my friend is now 21 and is RN, a mother of 3, and has done very well for herself. her boyfriend was somewhat abusive and reglective towards her but supposedly got some counseling and is doing better. Well just the other day her older sister called to talk with me and told me that her sister may be anorexic. She told me that she’s back doing drugs, drinking, is out majority of the night, left her kids alone one day, slept in and missed work and was caught drinking and driving and may lose her nursing license. How can I help her

She’s a grown woman (in her mid 20’s), so obviously no one can tell her what to do. She won’t go to AA meetings, won’t go to counseling (even though her parents offered to pay for it). She has already spent 3 days in an institution (which cost her parents 10 grand) and it didn’t help. At what point does someone need an intervention? As a friend, is there anything you can do for a grown person who refuses help?
