Question by DANIELLE H: What are the consequences of being addicted to alcohol?
My father is a chronic drunkard. My mom and I are thinking of sending him to an alcohol rehab center make him stop his nasty vice. But first, we wanna let him realize the effects of such to his well-being. Please help…

…he’s only going to get help if he wants it… you can send him anywhere you want but unless he wants the help you might as well send him to the moon… Alcohol is a “solvent”…it dissolves things, like brain cells, body organs, family’s, jobs, cars, homes and lives… Confront him and let him know how you truly feel… do it in a loving way, not an attack… he needs help….

Question by pompanopete0: Are Veterans rights to proper healthcare being violated?
The following is a mandatory policy, requiring a US Veterans signature in exchange for legitimate pain medication,

VA Clinic Policy, Viera, FL

provided I follow the terms of (sign) this agreement.

I agree to waive any applicable privilege or right of privacy or confidentiality with respect to the prescribing of my pain medication. (a required waiver of rights?)

I agree that I will submit to a blood or urine test, if requested by my provider, to determine my compliance with my regimen of pain control medicine.
(4th Amendment Rights down the toilet)

Drug screens testing positive for any substance other than those prescribed for me can result in discontinuation of my controlled substance pain medication.

I understand that if my mediation is stopped suddenly, I could have narcotic withdrawal symptoms, which can be very uncomfortable or dangerous.

The following is the applicable part of US Code of Federal Regulation, Title 38
Protections and rights for Veterans Healthcare
§ 7333. Nondiscrimination against alcohol and drug abusers and persons infected with the human immunodeficiency virus
Veterans eligible for treatment under chapter 17 of this title who are alcohol or drug abusers or who are infected with the human immunodeficiency virus shall not be discriminated against in admission or treatment by any Department health-care facility solely because of their alcohol or drug abuse or dependency or because of their viral infection.
U.S. Code Title 38.

“to grant permission freely without coercion.”

I’ve never seen this either till now. been going since 1984. 100% CONNECTED

AND REMEMBER, IT AIN’T ABOUT DRUGS, ITS ABOUT RIGHTS!

Drinking alone is the biggest. So, when you drink, have a friend with you.

Question by Rob Tt: Are these signs of being an alcoholic?
First off for the last few weeks I have started drinking with my friends, nothing hard like vodka or anything just beer, when we drink I always feel that unless you get drunk there’s no point in drinking because beer just doesn’t taste good. I do this a few times a month 3-5, is drinking only to get drunk at 15 signs of being an alcoholic or just what the typical teenager does?
if anyone here thinks that anybodys not drinking at 15 then your naive to the real world

Best answer:

Answer by Dustin
Probably not a big deal 3 times a month is fairly normal for a teenager.
Warning signs of alcoholic : drinking alone, getting drunk to the point of blacking out, getting smashed more than twice a week, and needing alcohol to deal with everyday life.
