Question by Jack: Is my alcoholism to blame for my health problems?
I became an alcoholic about two months ago and I’ve been having two main problems ever since: heat rash and diarrhea. I get heat rash very easily (between legs and armpits) and I always have diarrhea.

Do you think my heavy drinking started all this?

Umm, personally I do not think it was your drinking that started all of this, rather I think it’s the drinking that made your pre existing conditions worse. Drinking doesn’t really give people rashes, but it does affect the body and how it rejuvenates itself. Healing process slow down because the alcohol, in inappropriate amounts, kills body cells and prevents healing.
Diarrhea on the other hand can be directly linked to the drinking. It is a sign that you are flooding your kidneys and that your liver is getting weak.
Drinking excessively is not okay, and drinking your problems away is never the answer. I suggest you seek IMMEDIATE help with this issue. Alcoholism is not something to mess around with. It ruins reputations, lives, and breaks families apart. Do you love your mother and siblings? Do you have a wife or kids you love? There are people in your life that you love, and that love you. Every time you chug another one back your not just hurting yourself, your hurting everyone that cares about you.
You really should start AA counseling sessions or seek some form of help before this gets out of hand. This is a very serious issue that needs to be dealt with.
