Question by Jem & Holograms: Are their books, based on life AFTER alcoholism, no past stories, but how to move forward?
Suggestions of book titles? How to ‘reconfigure’ your life, after you are clean? No pity and past stories.

I’d think most books would contain past stories even if it’s not what it’s dedicated to.

My family needs to understand alcoholism and depression? Do you have any good book recommendations? Please do not tell me to google alcoholism or check out the AA book or the bible. Thanks

Mental illness and alcohol are factors; also last contact included some violence. Children are not allowed by father to discuss it openly, except to demonize mother. Counseling currently not an option. Looking for an age appropriate book, perhaps, that deals with loss – specifically loss by choice. A parent resource would be good also. I am aunt of children; concerned about possible feelings of misplaced guilt, anger, loneliness, love.

I’m going into a career for drug and alcohol counseling and I would love to find some good books to read. I love books that are based on a true story too. I should add i’ve already read A million little pieces and My friend leonard quite a few times.

the information from a magizine, or newspaper also would be helpful.
