Question by Lina: My brother just got out a rehab center and is straight back to drugs and alcohol. What should we do?
My brother is 21years old and has been smoking, drinking, popping pills, taking cannabis since he was 12-13 years old. He has dropped out 4 universities and is a heavy alcoholic, his priorities in life are completely misplaced, he is a pain to be around and nobody in the family enjoys his company because he is a bully, abusive, lazy and to put it in a nutshell tends to be a waste of space. We finally sent him to rehab which cost us a lot of money, and guess what he comes out, next day, straight back into lying, taking cannabis and hiding to drink when he thinks nobody can see him. We are sick of him because his behavior is affecting my parent’s health and the family peace. He has everyone fooled including his counselors who keep calling to check up and he tells them he is off it. I have tried to be supportive especially since he got out, but I CANNOT stand the lies, hypocrisy and bad temper he is dishing out. He thinks he is invisible and I’m sick of him.

I would try to transfer your anger from him over to the rehab and counseling profession who is ready to take all your money while the recidivism rate remains quite high. I am very sorry for you but it is up to your brother to want to help himself. I dont know if your parents will be able to break away and have a separate life from him, but I would think they would definitely want YOU to move on and not let it get to you. I wouldnt spend more money sending him back. I am so sorry

Question by coryhart39: We need a alcohol detox center for my brother in law in the Sacramento area that is free?
He has no health insurance and we found out hes also taking a prescrip for an anti depressant that does not mix well with alcohol, we really need to not only detox him but get him in a program that will assist him in rebuilding his life.

Call your county or state health department for advice. He probably will be eligible for some assistance and they should be able to tell you how to go about it. Good luck. Hope you all feel better soon.

The family wants to do an intervention, but his self esteem is so minimal that we fear it will reinforce his negative view of himself and instead of accepting the help, he will leave and commit suicide. Also, we would like to place him in an inpatient rehab facility. Does anyone know of an affordable facility?

suspects his Michael is a molestor. I not being mean at all, but I think Micheal really needs help (counseling or something). They are taking the animals from NeverLand, his employee havent been paid sence December, and now his brother is releasing a book about him. It looks bad. They say he is depressed/Isolated and has a drug/alcohol probem, debt, etc.
He seems really trobled?
