why is it that i can stop smoking pot whenever i want for what ever duration but alcohol and tobacco it seems like i struggle to quit but when i smoke pot i don’t drink nearly as much or at all but i still struggle with tobacco

well pot has no added chemicals to it. And its natural, with no chemicals at all that make it addicting. And tobacco is natural with nicotine. But the factories that produce cigarettes put fiber glass in there so it cuts little slits in your mouth to get you addicted faster, and they add nicotine. Now pot is just a mental addiction, u just want that high. But it doesnt sound like a problem. But i do personally believe it will help with your alcoholism.

I haven’t read or heard about the book. But I’m sure the book is just a gimmick for you to spend your money on the book. Alcoholism is sometimes “cured” because someone got a wake up call or some psychological change but that can be the same for any addiction. For many if not all it is a physical addiction that your body and mind gets used to it and actually craves it. It is hard to get over any addiction, the book might help change your mindset or it might not. Everybody acts different to addiction/ recovery. What might heal you might not heal someone else and vice versa.

All i can say 100% is stick on your path to your recovery and keep going to your AA meetings. You should be very proud of yourself for trying to recover! Just stay positive even through the hard times.

I wonder whether there is a permanent cure for alcoholism. Many women in India are blaming for having an alcoholic husband. Is there any permanent cure which can stop the urge for the next drink?

I don’t think that there is a permanent cure. If there were, some moneymaking guy/wifie would be pocketing millions!!!

Yes it is called AA. and there really is no cure.a recovering alcoholic is just that. for the rest of his life.
also, he needs a good 12step program. with other people with the same problem. and AA is the place.

Supposedly, alcoholism is not curable. They call it a Disease but it is actually a condition. AA is a form of therapy. The biggest difference between a drunk and an alcoholic is that a drunk does not have to go to all those meetings.

Niacin is used to help aid in the curing alcoholism and was used in Alcoholics Anonymous, not sure if it still is.. Um.. finding out if that person has food allergies that could lead to alcoholism (ex. Allergies to corn, wheat, etc can cause you to crave that food, alcohol being the void filler). Also Glutamine in high doses under the tongue can actually conquer temporarily alcohol cravings, especially if left to dissolve under the tongue.

request of LJ : Treatment “Alcoholism and Drug Addiction,” Who knows what at stake here? I know that addiction is a disease, but cure is complete abstinence. How can this man say that is light? For me, this means again that you drink or use drugs. You might as well give a gun to a drug addict or alcoholic, because if he or she is reemployed as murder is the best answer: response pmay
I really think that if alcohol or drug dependence, you are pretty much recovery, but the rest of their lives. A “cure” I guess means the use and treatment of problems in a healthy way, but I do not think it is, you can go ahead and drink again. Some people just can not handle.
