Almost half the victims of domestic violence is men, however they are told to keep quiet.

If the male victims try leave, they are abandoning their family.

If they take the kids, the mother can call the police and claim he plans to hurt them. The police take the children back and the father gets a restraining order and child support order on him.

If he tries to take the kids to a shelter, he can be turned away.

If a shelter takes them in, the mother can call and say he sexually abuses the kids to get him kicked out. Such was the case a few years back involving the SA shelter on 13th and Lydia in KCMO. Though the father was eventually cleared, not shelters would take them back in.

If the father just tries to seek help from the police, the mother can claim that he’s the abuser, and get him arrested, as it was in this case.

I have a bachelor’s degree in social science and minor in criminal justice. And currently completing my Master’s degree in behavioral sciences. This is fact. What do you think? And please do not give me an answer that they work so hard. Lame excuse … I am currently in lawenforcement. Geeeeeeeezzzzzzzzz. I see and work with him. My significant other and I were intoxicated and a disagreement got out of hand. It escalated into him close fist punching me in the face. He called the police. He was charged with domestic violence. The argument was pointless, it was mostly alcohol that was the problem. We have both sworn off it permentantly. Can a relationship get over something like this if both partners are willing to go through extensive counseling or once this happens do you call it quits?
