Question by : How does getting help for an alcohol addiction create a healthy community?
Hi there, any contributions would be very appreciated. Thanks
I don’t think you are understanding what I am meaning. I am doing a powerpoint on alcohol and the question is: “Explain why getting help for a substance creates a healthy community” so it means “How is a healthy community created when you get help for an alcohol addiction.”

READ THE QUESTION PROPERLY!

Abstaining from overconsumption of alcohol helps create a healthy body, which added up defines a healthy community.

Question by Ramrod: What do you do when you reach a dead-end in getting help?
Lately my emotions have just blown up in my face for numerous reasons and for the past several months I’ve just been so down that I can barely function. At work I get asked at least once a week if I’m okay, I avoid my house like the plague, and I’ve distanced myself from all my friends. It’s been going on for months and getting progressively worse, to the point that suicide has at times seemed like a valid option(but I’m not suicidal at this moment).

Some stuff happened and I do have someone ‘on the inside’ looking out for me, giving me numbers to call to try and get into some sort of counseling or something BUT I’ve been directed to all these different numbers and places and I can’t find anywhere that will help. The main issue seems to be that I don’t have health insurance and they don’t accept self-pay(including the hospital). Now it’s to the point where all that is left that I’m being directed towards is drug and alcohol treatment centers which is irrelevant to me so they won’t help either. I’ve thought about looking at what nearby cities may have available but once it turns to winter a lot of the roads close and there’s no way I’d be able to get anywhere reliably.

I felt hopeless before but now even moreso, I just want to throw my hands up and quit. It shouldn’t be so hard to get help.

What do you do when you’re at a dead-end and literally CAN’T get help?

Don’t give up! Everything will get better in time. You just have to persevere through the tough times and think about how great things are going to be soon! Also, get a pet. They help a lot.
