Question by citlaly a: How can I get information about the addiction treatment centers in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma?
We’re going to be moving there at the end of the month, and I want to know how I’m going to be able to find the right addiction treatment center for my husband. He’s been into alcohol for years now, and has only recently consented to being subjected to treatment. Help please.

I did a little research regarding the available treatment centers in Oklahoma. Just click on the links below. I hope those will be of help to you. If you want more options, I suggest that you look through the telephone directory. Good luck! I’m going to keep your husband’s recovery in my prayers.

Question by Rob: I was in alcohol treatment, I signed a release of information to probation officer and municipal court?
This information got out to other city employees not from yhe court. This then in turn got back to my employer, coworkers, my bussness contacts and family. This court is in Ohio, it is my understanding that most court records are public, one exception being medical records. It also seems to me this information should be protected under federal HIPPA laws.
Do I have any recourse against the courts for this?

Salvation Army in Tulsa, OK has a long term residential program. Your local chapter should be able to get you in touch with them. Also, look in the yellow pages under alcoholism, there should be listings for 800 # referal services. Whatever you do, GET TO A MEETING AND GET A SPONSOR IN THE MEANTIME!!!! Good luck and prayers for you or the other sick one.

Question by Karasu: Where can I find information about the damaging effects of alcohol on the mind and body?
Personally, I think that it is a myth that drinking 2 beers a night won’t harm you. And, I also think that certain people cannot drink alcohol as much as others without having it mess up the mind. I am no prude but I am talking about science here. I want to research this.

I don’t have any stats to give you about the damage that alcohol can do to one’s body. I can just share with you what happened to me.

I did drink A LOT more than 2 beers a day. I drank a lot of scotch and vodka over a long period of time. Three years after joining AA and being sober, I needed to have one of my hips replaced (56 yrs. old). Over time, the circulation was cut off from the top of the femur and it started to die. I was walking bone on bone. The pain was excruciating!

Then 2 years ago I developed problems at work and finally submitted to a neuropsych exam which showed deficits in my brain. My cognitive abilities were affected as well as my abilities to multi-task. I could not tell when I made a mistake. Got fired and have been on disability since.

Of course, if someone would have told me 15 years ago that this would happen, I would not have stopped drinking.

Don’t know if this will help you but you could try:
