Ive been detoxed for about 4 weeks now, been to see the doctor today and he has prescribed Clonazepam 0.5 mg twice a day, Zopiclone 15 mg at night, Risperidone 0.5 mg twice a day, Pabrinex injections at lunch time for 5 days, 2 vitamin B compound strong tablets and 2 Thiamine tablets daily. I was drinking approximately 50 units of alcohol a day and i have been struggling to sleep quite badly but is all this medication necessary?

Answer by Lithobid. I read somewhere with alcohol for some reason they are necessary, and I think heroin. Alcohol detox for some reason has to monitored and given medication to help the come down. I wish you the best of luck.

Question by lloyd Schwartz: will the withdrawal symptoms from abusing benadryl be real bad. i’ve been taking 100 pills almost every day?
i didn’t take any for 4 days, and i had HUGE anxiety attack. i’m really worried about the detox. i’ve already been in treatment twice for alcohol in the last year. i wazs addicted to meth for 14 years. i used alcohol to help me beat that. in 4 years i became a full blown alcoholic. when i was in treatment for the alcohol problem, i started taking benadryl. 6 months at approx. 100 pills a day adds up to A WHOLE LOT OF PILLS

Question by Sarah L: I’ve been prescribed Northisterone to delay my period and wondered if recreational drugs/alcohol had effects?
If anyone has been in similar circumstances, please comment. I just wondered if they would have an effect on the effectiveness of the medicine, or if it would cause dangerous side effects? I have heard that alcohol does not have an effect on Norethisterone, but any further opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sarah x

Question by snatchjacker: do you think alcoholism is a disease? I’ve been told different things like..?
it’s a disease similar to getting cancer, and i’ve heard other people who reject the idea that alcoholism is a disease, but say that problem drinking is solely a personal choice that anyone has the power to stop on their own. What’s your opinion?
