Question by bugsy: If i stop drinking ( alcohol ) i lose all my friends how can i stop and keep my friends ?
Were all old college buddies we’v retold and retold all the stories from the glory days my friends and i. Now all we have in common is a drink in the evening .

If you are going to loose your friends because you dont want to drink… then unfortunatly these are not real friends anyway. Tell them you stopped drinking, if they dont respect you… its time for new friends.

Question by Dean K: alcoholism, why do I keep drinking ?
I can go weeks if not months without drinking. Then I pick up, I have a good family, wife and kids but for some reason I relapse. I am tired of this. I am not upset or depressed about anything I just pick up. Anyone out there have a suggestion.

Well if you go months without a drink and than all of a sudden pick one up, you must have problems that you are not admitting.

Please give me specifics (bioligical) on why you think it is a disease, and why people claim they have no power over it?
That would be *biological*, not that other word I mis-spelled up there.

My ex-husband is an alcoholic and I’m scared that my son would turn into one also. So, I’m looking for organizations or societies that might us be informed about alcoholism. I don’t want my son to be like his father. I want him to realize the consequences of abusing alcohol so that he would try to stay away from it. Please help me. I want to save my son.
