Question by Clint R: How quickly does the average body overcome the effects of alcohol?
I know that the average body breaks alcohol down 1 drink per hour, but if I drink a 12 pack in 6 hours, I feel very drunk after the 12th beer compared to how I felt after the second beer. So what does the body break alcohol down into, and how long does it take for the average body to get the counterparts of alcohol of its system?

on average, the human body breaks down alcohol at a rate of about one beer an hour. Also this equals about one shot of liqueur an hour.

If so what guidance can you give towards “drying” as it were?

I have; pancreatitis, which causes me constant pain, ulcers which also do and still I crave a drink… I can’t seem to get into a rehab without waiting for months (I live in Britain) and I don’t know if I can make it that long

Make sure they get a sponsor.
Make sure they follow the twelve steps.
Get involved in Alanon.
