Question by : Is it possible for HIV/AIDS virus to hide in the liver and go undetected?
about 6 months ago I was diagnosed with liver failure due to alcoholism. the doctors tested for HIV/AIDS and the results came back negative. I am just wondering if the virus did not show up in the blood work, is it possible for the virus to have been incubating all this time (6 months)? or am I at risk? i figure since my immunity was pretty low at the time the virus would have shown up. please help.
Thanks

Ya in patient is easy to detox but you gotta change your life and want to when you’re done or you go back to the bottle.
AA worked for me a couple times. Some detox places just suck, they treat you like a criminal.
Good luck.

Question by nyeviolet: Is it possible to get someone involuntarily placed in alcohol rehab in Kansas?
We live in Kansas. My husband has a very severe alcohol addiction. He has decided that he is ready to seek help. However, we have no insurance, and not even enough income to cover our basic bills. How can we get help for him, when we have no money? Is there a way to have him involuntarily committed, that would get the state to pay for it? Serious answers only, please! I am going through enough without having to deal with a bunch of idiots!

Yes through a Court Order signed by a Judge with the comprehensive evaluation by a Medical Professional. You need to contact the Social Service Agency in your County and talk with them to determine if a program exists for Kansas Medicaid Payment.

Question by MP: Is it possible to detox from alcohol at home?
I understand it takes about 7 to 10 days to get past the withdrawal symptoms which seems to be the hardest part when you want to stop. Does anyone have any advise or know of anything that makes the process easier? Thank You.

If you have had a history of alcohol abuse and wish to detox, first, congratulations…it’s a big first step to want to change. Second, I would advise that you contact your physician. You do run the risk of seizures and/or hallucinations during detox and it would be best to have your physician monitor your condition. Vitamin B1 and antiseizure/anti anxiety meds are frequently used in the process. It’s these latter two that require prescription from your physician.
