Question by : could this be a sign of alcohol withdrawal?
before going to bed, if i don’t have a few drinks, i get really strange symptoms, like ill hear loud ringing and sometimes strange sounds, voices, not sure exactly what, it can be a little scary at times, i’m a perfectly sane and normal person, but i do take the anti-depressant nortriptyline, sometimes with alcohol, i know i’m not suppose to but i do anyways, also this only happens before bedtime, could this be a sign of alcohol withdrawal? can i “wean” myself out of this?

Honestly yes. Alcohol has a ton of withdrawl symptoms and well as different severity levels. Does it sound like a radio might be on when your going to bed, like off in the distance? Thats a sign. Voices, but not clear ones. ringing, odd muscle ticks or jerks, as well as bad dreams or sweating are all low to moderate withdrawal symptoms.

Question by anton l: What is a common sign of Alcohol Withdrawal
I have been drinking heavily every day the past 3 weeks. When I wake up my anxiety is through the roof. I feel like I want to jump out of my skin. I don’t have a hangover but I feel like being put to death. It lasts all day until I start drinking again. Is this a sign of alcohol withdrawal?

Question by Amber: Why is “blacking out” a warning sign of alcoholism?

Best answer:

Answer by First Lady
If you drink so much that you literally black out, that indicates a problem. Most people can drink and remember what they did the next day. If someone drinks so much that they can’t, that’s not a good sign for them. That’s what an alcoholic does….they drink so much that they black out.

Question by Anonymous: Why is drinking alone a sign of alcoholism?

Best answer:

Answer by mugenhunt
It’s that instead of drinking being part of socializing with others, like going to a bar to hang out with friends or the such, it’s gotten to the point where you drink just for the sake of drinking.
