That’s a head trip question eh?
I guess alcoholics CAN become clean… eventually, that is a fact.
Different people become clean in different ways for different reasons, this may have been enough to help them?
Maybe they weren’t an alcoholic in the first place? Maybe they were and are stealthing alcohol when they can? Maybe they will take it back up, maybe not.
I guess time will tell all for this case eh?
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by pal_013168: If a judge sentences someone to a alcohol/substance abuse evaluation at a specific?
facility and the facility is so backed up it cannot get to patients. There is only one facility in the county. Is there a time limit they have to complete the evaluation,a statute of limitations or something? What is the point of someone being sent to treatment if they cannot even get an appointment? It has been 4 months since first trying to get an appointment. Thanks or any info.
i would truly like to know why the courts continue to refer people to an organization( AA) that has extremely poor success rates.

Question by skyblueyou: How do we do an alcoholic intervention with someone living in another state?
Hypothetically speaking, say my friend lives in the Midwest and his family and I live on the east coast. My friend has a serious illness and is an alcoholic who is in denial. He is drinking dangerous amounts of alcohol and his doctor is warning him about damage to his liver. He refuses to go to AA meetings. He has a legal disability that prevents him from getting around very easily. What kind of intervention should his family do if they live half way across the country?

If he’s in denial nothing. And especially since you can’t check what he’s stockpiling in his room. Realistically nothing. He’s not breaking any laws. You could inform social services if he is in danger to himself or the public.
You could ring up and have a chat but if you think it would change him well it would be easier for you to fly to the moon.

Question by carissa j: Can someone tell me how to find an addiction treatment center in Asbury Park, New Jersey?
We’ve only just moved to this area, so I’m really not familiar with the place yet. It’s just that we need to put our son in an addiction treatment center, to get him treated for his alcoholism. Any tips you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can look through the local yellow pages. There’ll surely be a list there of the addiction treatment centers in your area. You can also check out the links that I have provided below. Or, you can go to the nearest hospital and ask a doctor or healthcare provider for recommendations. I hope your son gets treated soon, it’s always tough, but he can get through it. Just continue being there for him. Good luck!
