Question by Aonghas Declared Me Immature: Alcoholism has a genetic component. So why do many assume that because something is “natural” it is good/right?
So why should it matter to anyone whether or not some behavior or trait or choice is present at birth? After all, the Bible claims that all humans are born with “original sin” and are therefore prone to choose sin. So why should the fact that something may be “natural” or “in-born” impact the moral aspect of some act?

I like to drink every now and then. Not often, once or twice a month. Every time i drink though, i wake up at seven in the morning or close, and I’m not able to fall asleep again. I can lay there for hours just feeling like shit. It doesn’t matter what time i fall asleep, it could be four, five, even six, i wake up at seven. Somebody told me it may be a sign of alcoholism. Any ideas?

I wouldn’t say that you are an alcoholic seeing as you only drink 1-2/month. You may just be hungover from the alcohol that you drank the night before. It depends on how much you drink. If you drink one beer then you shouldn’t be feeling like this, but if you went out and had more than you can remember then you are probably just hungover
