Question by : What are the effects of alcohol on the teen brain?
I’m 16 years old. I started drinking about 9 months ago, lightly, about once a month on average. Within this last month of summer I’ve been getting drunk about 3 nights a week. My mother’s side of the family is FULL of alcoholics. I wanted to know what the long-term effects of drinking could be on my brain. Should I give up drinking completely until I’m 21? Or just cut back? Thanks for any answers.

Question by Lady Tam: What are your opinions on Teen Challenge?
My 28 year old cousin has been abusing alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine for 15 years. Just as things seemed to be getting better, he quit his job (the best thing that’s happened to him in 28 years). He also suffers from Depression and Bipolar Disorder.
I have been researching Christian Drug and Alcohol inpatient treatment centers, and came across Teen Challenge. I’m curious as to whether or not the majority of people have had good or bad experiences coming out of this program.
Thanks!

ANY program that you can get him into is better than what he is into now

Question by Alexa R: teen treatment centers for alcoholism?
daughter, 15 years old.

Answer by Mitchell
It’s calling being a better parent and grounding your child from all activities other than school.
Taco, I’m a senior in High School and have been put through peer pressure and all that crap, and have resisted. I have no sympathy what so ever for people with problems like this. If I can hold back there’s no reason other teenagers can’t. If they wanna ruin their life this early go for it. It’s called darwinism.
Don’t give me that crap about being in someone else’s shoes. You have no idea what problems I’ve been through in my own life and still haven’t resorted to drinking.
Good day.

No I don’t think so. I had my first drink when I was twelve as have many people I know. None of us have become alcoholics. It is a matter of choice.
