Seven years ago, I had gotten into an argument with a girlfriend that I was dating at the time. It resulted with me acting violent towards her. I pushed her down and choked her. I was arrested and charged with assault. After that, I went through a few years worth of mental counseling and anger management classes, and alcohol abuse counseling (I was intoxicated at the time that the abuse took place.) I basically did everything to turn my life around to make sure this never happened again. Anyways, the real problem I’m having is…Everyday, I think about it and I feel more sorry for it more now than ever. It’s really affected every aspect of my life. From relationships to people judging me, and when I go to get a job. I guess my question is: why am I thinking so much of it now and why am I always thinking of her? Any help would be appreciated.
I haven’t ever been able to get close to anyone since. Violence is not apart of my life anymore. I know it was and is wrong. I do not consume alcohol very often, just socially. I was 18 years old at the time and I’m now almost 26.

How can you help her when she won’t seek help? Yet she suffers emotionally. I don’t want to go into details, I know she is suffering. It’s not drugs or alcohol. It’s emotional pain and suffering. She has people who love her, but a lot of pain in her life. I pray for her. She is a nurse and knows she needs counseling but for some reason resists it. Will you pray for her to seek help?
