Question by : If a Court Orders Someone to stop drinking alcohol and they obey were they ever an alcoholic ?
Alcoholics I feel will not be able to stay clean

Best answer:

Answer by Gabrielle
That’s a head trip question eh?
I guess alcoholics CAN become clean… eventually, that is a fact.
Different people become clean in different ways for different reasons, this may have been enough to help them?
Maybe they weren’t an alcoholic in the first place? Maybe they were and are stealthing alcohol when they can? Maybe they will take it back up, maybe not.

I guess time will tell all for this case eh? :)

Question by coolRyder: What remedies were used in the PAST to cure alcoholism?
for my stupid bio project !

Best answer:

Answer by chez fez ;D
Niacin is used to help aid in the curing alcoholism and was used in Alcoholics Anonymous, not sure if it still is.. Um.. finding out if that person has food allergies that could lead to alcoholism (ex. Allergies to corn, wheat, etc can cause you to crave that food, alcohol being the void filler). Also Glutamine in high doses under the tongue can actually conquer temporarily alcohol cravings, especially if left to dissolve under the tongue.

The other party knew the drunkard was an alcoholic and we are talking two an a half bottles of wine to one 125 lb 5′ 7″ woman. The other party offered the alcohol. The other party says he wanted to marry the girl and have her babies. If he was that serious wouldn’t he have helped her through sobriety? Also, the drunk girl got help through AA, counseling and anti-depressants immediately and apologized profusely. But when she was drunk she was nuts, she said mean things, tried to attack him physically, and then was verbally degrading herself. So, the one drunken episode was really, really, really bad, it couldn’t have been too much worse.

She says it’s not alcohol, but Binaca that I smell on her breath when she’s arriving home at 2 a.m., her car parked crooked in the driveway.
After our divorce earlier this year, and her subsequent moving back in with the kids and me, it was a part of our reconciliation agreement that she attend AA meetings and marriage counseling with me.
As for the former, she attended one meeting and returned, saying, “What a bunch of chain-smoking losers!”
As for our marriage counselor, she called Dr. Cooper “both a shrink and a quack” — to his face — after he seemed to concentrate on her cheating, cursing, drinking, foul temper and other self-destructive behaviors. She now has me looking for a new counselor who will be “fair.”
Since she declared she’s running for elective office, there has been no talking to her about anything negative — even about her drinking or why she called in a favor to get her old boyfriend, Timdawg, out of jail.
