Question by Maureen M: I’m an alcholic in recovery 2 years and my husband still locks his alcohol up? Why does this bother me?
He also only drinks when I’m not at home. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually seen him have a drink.

It bothers you because you think that after 2 yrs., that he should trust you. He locks it up because he doesn’t want to jeopardize your sobriety. It doesn’t really matter, though, you could go to the liquor store yourself, and buy some, but after 2 yrs., and all the problems it caused you, I’m sure you’ve gotten to be very good at dealing with them. Give yourself some credit here.

I read somewhere with alcohol for some reason they are necessary, and I think heroin. Alcohol detox for some reason has to monitored and given medication to help the come down. I wish you the best of luck.
